Ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) is a concrete with specially closed structure with a compressive strength of over 150 N/mm 2 . It can be produced both as fine-grained concrete with a maximum particle size of only 0.5 mm, or also with a maximum particle size of up to 16 mm. Depending on the composition and the production method used, compressive strengths of between 180 and 230 N/mm 2 can be reliably achieved. The tensile strength of steel-fiber reinforced UHPC can amount up to around 15 N/mm 2 , the flexural tensile strength up to around 50 N/mm 2 . UHPC has virtually no capillary pores. With appropriately effective superplasticizers it can be produced practically self-compacting in the entire consistency range from earth-moist to practically self-compacting.
