Comments and opinions may be sent to the editorial office or by e-mail to knkhan@ searle. monsanto. com or dan. g. morton@ abbott. com.A spectrum of inflammatory lesions of unknown eti-ology occurred in the lungs of male and female F344 rats from a number of prechronic toxicity studies performed for the NTP/NIEHS over a period of several years at different laboratories located throughout the United States. The rats for these studies were supplied by 2 different production colonies located in the eastern and western areas of the United States.
