In this review on structural features of leaves, cells and organelles of C4 plants, the main emphasis is on relating structure with function and on how these structural and functional correlates may have evolved. Under leaf anatomy the aspects covered are stomata, structure of mesophyll and bundle sheath cells and the starch sheath. Chloroplast structure is also dealt with in detail.
