The present picture of the phase diagram of neutral quark matter at large, but non‐asymptotic densities is briefly reviewed. Model studies reveal a rich phase structure, but details are very sensitive to uncontrolled parameters. These problems may be overcome by Dyson‐Schwingers approaches.
