An instrument is described which measures precisely the length and diameter of an egg simultaneously, and presents the ratio of length to diameter on a digital readout. The instrument is manually loaded and has a binary coded decimal output for interfacing with digital recorders or a computer. Comparison of accuracy of measurement, speed and reduction of breakage with an existing method is included.
