The relative permittivities of argon, carbon dioxide, and hydrogen, were measured at 25°C and atmospheric pressure using a 10 kHz transformer bridge [1]. The results, reduced to 20.0°C and 101 325 Pa and expressed in units of (er - 1) × 106, were for argon 516.7 ± 0.3; carbon dioxide 922.2 ± 0.4; and hydrogen 253.8 ± 0.2. Errors given are upper limits estimates including (known causes of) systematic errors inherent in the method.
