MATERIALS AND METHODSTwenty-six cats were used. Anesthesia was initiated by intraperitoneal injection of sodium pentobarbital b-25 wdkg), and maintained by additional doses of chloralose given intravenously(2-3 cc of a 0.8% solution/kg). The sensory areas of the left hemisphere, and the first three cervical segments, were exposed. Evoked potentials were elicited by light tapping of right hind-or forefoot.
