A. albopictus were marked by the use of various dyes and released for the purpose of determining the range of the species. The release was usually made at the beginning of the week and collections made during the remainder of the week. The marked specimens were recaptured by the use of an aspitator. The expts. were conducted in the Makiki Valley, Honolulu. On the basis of the above expts. it was concluded that A. albopictus will normally travel approx. 200 yards or less during its lifetime. Wind is of less importance as ordinarily believed. The average rate of dispersal was about 15 yards per day.
