Although chemodectomas of microscopic size have been described in lung, larger solitary primary chemodectomas have not been recognized frequently. It is possible that some of the lesions reported as atypical bronchial adenomas may actually represent such tumors. Two instances of probable primary pulmonary chemodectoma are presented.
