动机是影响英语学习成绩的重要因素之一。因此，为了帮助学生保持一定的英语学习动机，教师在日常教学过程中是非常必要的。本文分四个部分讨论了外语学习中的动机问题，首先介绍了外语学习的背景，然后讨论了中国外语学习中的动机问题，最后试图为教师在大学非英语专业英语教学中提高学生的动机提供一些建议。
Motivation is one of the important factors that influences English learning achievement. So in order to help the students to maintain a proper strength in English learning motivation is very necessary for the teachers in the daily teaching procedure. This paper discusses the issue of motivation in foreign language learning in four main sections .It starts with the background information .Then it is concerned with the motivation issues in EFL in China, and finally, tries to provide some advices for teachers to enhance students’ motivation in English teaching for non-English majors at tertiary level.
