The relationships among the efficiency of inclusion removal from molten steel by argon blowing and diameter of argon bubbles, diameter of inclusion particles, the surface area of porous plug and diameter of gas hole inside porous plug, argon blowing rate and blowing time have been analyzed. The methods of making small argon bubbles in molten steel have been discussed also. Spring steel refining in 70 t ladle furnace has been fulfilled with the help of different argon blowing processes efficiently to decrease the total amount of oxide inclusions and the ratio of amount of inclusion particles more than 40 μm in spring steel rods.
