An enzyme that catalyzes the complete replication cycle of the genomic RNA of bacteriophage Qβ, a positive-strand RNA virus, was purified from Qβ-infected Escherichia coli cells. The enzyme is composed of four subunits; namely, a Qβ-coded polypeptide, the host translation elongation factors EF-Tu and EF-Ts, and a ribosomal protein S1
