Radiolabeled antibodies are especially useful in cancer studies for determining what happens to antitumor or antitissue antibodies when they are injected in vivo and in determining whether or not such antibodies localize in the tumor or tissue against which they were formed.' Actually, in the case of antitumor antibodies there is a possibility of using such radiolabeled antibodies diagnostically as indicators to determine the locations of tumors and their metastases and, perhaps, even therapeutically to carry physiologically active concentrations of radioactivity to the tumor.*-+ In this article, the use of radiolabeled antibodies in the study of cancer will be discussed, and emphasis will be placed on pitfalls that are known to be present.
