Most existing health education programs for children with asthma and for their parents are designed for health care or community settings. l-12 Only 2 programs have been developed for children in a school setting. 13-16 In addition, a school exercise program designed to improve children's physical functioning has been developed and evaluated. 17 This review will describe these programs and discuss the critical role of school health education in the overall management of childhood asthma.
