The $4{d}^{9}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}5{s}^{0}5{p}^{6}$, $4{d}^{9}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}5{s}^{1}5{p}^{5}$, and $4{d}^{9}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}5{s}^{2}5{p}^{4}$ Auger transitions of xenon have been studied both experimentally and theoretically. Final states of these transitions are found to be affected by strong electron correlation effects. Results from Auger-electron spectra are compared with the corresponding results of optical spectroscopy and with the theoretical estimates based on Dirac-Fock multiconfiguration computations.
