We present high-precision measurements of the specific heat near the structural transition of SrTi${\mathrm{O}}_{3}$. We did not detect critical behavior, but only a jump followed by a tail. This can be calculated directly from the phonon dispersion curves near the $R$ corner, where the ${\ensuremath{\Gamma}}_{25}$ mode becomes soft.
