We explore the dissociative ionization of CO with carrier-envelope-phase (CEP) tagged few-cycle laser pulses. We observe the CEP dependence of the directional emission of Cand Ofragments from transient COions, whereand. AtW/cm, aphase difference between the Cand Ofragments from the (,) and (,) channels reflects the orientation dependence of the CO ionization. AtW/cm, we find a35phase shift between the Cfragments from the (,) and () channels, in contrast to theshift previously observed between the Cfragment channels atW/cm[Phys. Rev. Lett. 106, 073004 (2011)PRLTAO0031-900710.1103/PhysRevLett.106.073004].
