A single-sideband modulator for gigahertz modulation frequencies is demonstrated in Ti:LiNbO3. At a frequency shift of Δf 5.9 GHz, the optical bandwidth is δλ = 20 nm and the electrical bandwidth δf = 0.25 – 1 GHz.
