The article reports on a study of the nucleotide sequence of the double-stranded ribonucleic acid (RNA) virus, Magnaporthe oryzae. M. oryzae is the causal agent of the devastating rice blast disease. It is stated that sequence comparisions and phylogenetic analyses revealed that the virus isolated from M. oryzae strain Ken 60-90 is related to viruses of the Totiviridae family which infects filamentous fungi.
