BiMnO(3-delta) compositions differing in oxygen stoichiometry have been synthesized under high pressure. Orthorhombic BiMnO(2.99) and monoclinic BiMnO(2.84) exhibit canted antiferromagnetism and ferromagnetism respectively. BiMnO(2.94) and BiMnO(2.89) are also monoclinic and show ferromagnetism, but it seems possible that they may contain domains of more than one phase.
