As increased requirements for high speed and capacity and congestion of current frequencies, higher frequency is desired in body area wireless communications. Especially, terahertz band gains great attention for researchers for its potential capacity and wide frequency availability. In this paper, a preliminary measurement result of terahertz propagation for wireless body area network is exhibited. An antenna integrated resonance tunneling diode is used as a transmitter and a pyro detector are used as a receiver. Received level of the distance from 2 cm to 28 cm are measured and a simple attenuation model of 490 GHz is derived.
