The paper examines issues of agricultural production, the rise in prices for basic food products, and disparities in the levels of food consumption among population groups with different levels of incomes. An analysis of the shortage of skilled manpower in agriculture suggests, among other things, a need to increase the level of education among rural youth, which would help to address the challenges of agribusiness.
