原著論文 There are few snowmelt runoff models that take into account the storage effect of snowpack from a viewpoint of practical uses for snowmelt flood forecast. We have expressed the storage effect of snowpack by the storage routing model (hereafter: water flow model through snow) and have developed a snowmelt runoff model with infiltration mechanisms considered. However, it has not been yet verified whether or not the existing model can adequately accommodate infiltration processes through snowpack during heavy rainfall periods. In addition, practical difficulties are often encountered to identify model parameters of snowmelt runoff that can reproduce hydrographs with high accuracy in the entire snowmelt season, when the complicated snowmelt runoff model is applied to different river basins. In this paper, we examined the relationship between rainfall and inflow to the dam reservoir at heavy rainfall events in the snowmelt season. As a result, we found that it is more reasonable not to consider the storage effect of snowpack during heavy rainfall periods in the estimation of snowmelt runoff. Furthermore, it was found that the model parameters to be optimized only from the largest flood event could reproduce snowmelt hydrographs in good accordance for the whole melting season in different water years. It was affirmed from these results that analytical and optimization approaches proposed in the present study were effective to improve reproduction of snowmelt hydrographs and generalize the snowmelt runoff model for practical use.
