The field of heat transfer has grom by leaps and bounds over the past three decades. Several handbooks and serial compilations of authoritative reviews (eg Advances in Heat Transfer, Academic Press; Mvances in Transport Processes, Wiley-Halsted) have appeared regularly to meet the needs of the researcher and the practicing engineer vho must keep abreast of developments in heat transfer. With this handbook the editors-all vell known authorities in their own right-have provided a sourcebook confined to single phase heat transfer. This book contains the most extensive and up-to-date compilation of engineering and design data while covering. albeit briefly, the fundamental principles and applications as vell.The topics covered range from derivation of basic conservation equations, forced convection (internal, external), free convection (internal, external), laminar as well as turbulent convection, interactions with radiation. tube bundles. liquid metal heat transfer, mixed convection to heat transfer in porous media, etc. One chapter is devoted to compilation of thermophysical properties. Fouling in heat exchanges and non-Newtonian convection tranafer are also topics covered in some depth.
