The term “Carnian Pluvial Event” denotes an episode of increased rainfall which had a well recognizable and widespread influence on Carnian marine and continental sedimentary systems. Its onset is dated to the latest Early Carnian (Julian), by ammonoid and conodont biostratigraphy (Fig. 2).
