Reovirus, type 1, was inoculated intranasally and intraperitoneally into germfree and disease-free dogs. There was no evidence of disease clinically, histo-pathologically, or at necropsy. The dogs developed hemagglutination-inhibiting and neutralizing antibodies, and virus was still present in the spleen 24 days after inoculation.
