This paper briefly discusses the benefits and limitations of conventional operating mechanisms and introduces the design of the new operating mechanism (Motor Drive), including its features and the testing performed to prove its capabilities. The features offer significant benefits to users in terms of improved reliability and availability of circuit-breakers, and lower costs.
