The case is reported of a 58-year-old patient with IgA deficiency who had abnormal abdominal CT findings which resolved after treatment with metronidazole for giardiasis. This case is reported to alert clinicians to the fact that giardiasis can cause CT findings that may mimic malignant intra-abdominal disease and appropriate treatment may prevent unnecessary surgery.
