The double staining of ultrathin sections for electron microscopy with KMnO4and Pb (CH3COO)2was introduced in this paper and at the same time it was demonstrated that the double staining can make up the defects of the single staining with each heavy metal, giving universally high contrast to all the formations in the cell, with constant and satisfactory result.
