The intravenous (IV) infusion of levodopa can abolish or reduce the on-off phenomenon in patients with chronic par-kinsonism receiving long-term oral treatment with levodopa However, levodopa requires a large dilution for IV administration because of its high acidity, a fact that prevents its being used in continuous infusions in ambulatory patients. We report here our experience with IV infusions of lisuride, a dopaminergic agonist that requires minimal dilution for such administration. We have studied three patients.
