On the basis of spectroscopic observations, the short-period eclipsing binary AC Cnc is found to show broad emission lines of H and He II superimposed on a continuum spectrum. The measured halfwidths of emission lines yield a velocity dispersion of 550 km/s. Magnitude and color indices of V = 13.80, (B-V) = +0.31, and (U-B) = -0.62 are obtained. The results are seen as strongly suggesting that AC Cnc is a new cataclysmic variable.
