In recent years, researchers have noted a significant association between child sexual abuse (CSA) and HIV. This association has important implications for HIV prevention and intervention. In this chapter, the authors present an overview of the consequences of CSA that may lead to higher risk for HIV, offer a critique of early intervention paradigms, and present an integrative risk-reduction approach for HIV-positive women with CSA histories that addresses the link between CSA and HIV in a developmental and cultural context.
