We consider gravity driven flows of particle-laden thin films on an incline. Three distinct regimes are observed depending on the inclination angle and the bulk volume fraction of particles: the particles either settle out of the flow, aggregate at the moving front, or remain well-mixed. The experiments are carried out with a range of particle sizes and fluid viscosities. The results compare well with an equilibrium theory balancing shear-induced migration with settling in the normal direction. We find that the well-mixed regime is transient in nature, with both the particle size and the liquid viscosity a ecting the time scale on which it occurs.
