According to the progresses of ultra-high bit rate optical fiber communication, a space division photonic switching network is desired to realize ultra-large data throughput switching. In designing such a network on a large scale, semiconductor optical traveling-wave amplifiers (TWAs) have been used to reduce optical switch loss[1]. A lossless semiconductor optical switch attained by monolithically integrating a TWA is the most desirable approach for large scale photonic switching networks, because it can be small and enable the network to be enlarged without worrying about loss budget. The larger the photonic switching network, the more important low crosstalk is, since the accumulated crosstalk increase with magnification of the switch matrix[2].
