espanolLas ideas sobre la concientizacion, que dejo Paulo Freire (1921-1997), consideradas como una etapa relevante para la educacion y liberacion del hombre, han sido ampliamente divulgadas en toda Latinoamerica y mas alla de sus fronteras. En esta teoria se estudian las diferentes fases que pasa el oprimido en su esfuerzo educativo y, al mismo tiempo, en el proceso de toma de conciencia de los problemas que lo rodean. Con el tiempo, estas mismas ideas tambien han probado ser utiles en otros campos de estudio, como han sido la critica literaria, el teatro y otras actividades de relevancia para las comunidades. En esta ponencia, se presentan dos de estos nuevos casos, aplicados a la resolucion de problemas ambientales, donde se examinan en primer lugar, los factores que intervienen en la teoria de la concientizacion de Freire y, luego, se formulo un modelo operativo que se aplico en varias comunidades con problemas. Se concluye que es posible avanzar en la formulacion de este modelo y que los resultados de su aplicacion son buenos, pareciendo estar relacionados muy especialmente con la cultura local particular, con el grado de vinculacion a las instituciones del Estado respectivas, con la dinamica de sus movimientos sociales, con la reformas contextuales y con el tiempo de maduracion ciudadana, todos presentados en los factores del modelo, lo cual es coincidente con los efectos ocurridos con las acciones realizadas por Freire en Brasil, en 1988. EnglishThe ideas behind the concept of the awareness-raising of Paulo Freire (1921- 1997) are considered to be a prominent phase in the education and liberation of man; ideas that have been extensively propagated throughout Latin America and beyond its borders. The theory takes into consideration the different phases passed through in the educational process and, at the same time, the ways the conscience deals with the accompanying problems. These ideas have been tested in other fields of study such as literary criticism, theater, and other activities of importance to the community. This study presents two new cases applied to environmental troubleshooting that are examined in light of the factors that intervene in the theory of awareness-raising of Freire and which also operate as models that are applicable to several communities with problems. The conclusion is that it is possible to advance the formulation of this model and that the results of its application are good, especially as related to local culture, in its ability to link respective state institutions, and within the dynamics of social movements�contextual reforms and civic ripening, all of which concur in the model carried out by Freire in Brazil in 1988.
