The crystal s tructure of Cs2ZnBr4 has been reported by Morosin & Lingafel ter (1959) and was shown to be similar to tha t of Cs~.CoCla (Poraj-Koshitz, 1956) and of Cs2ZnCla (Brehler, 1957). The reported structure is of the K2SOa type, containing te t rahedra l MX-~ 2 ions. Cs2CuC14 has a s tructure (Helmholtz & Kruh, 1952) which is quite similar except for a marked distort ion of the CuCl72 group. We are report ing at this t ime the crystal s tructure of Csg.CuBr4 which is very similar to Cs2CuC14 and which has a somewhat greater distort ion of the CuBr j 2 ion.
