Editor: In the May 1995 issue of Radiology, Dr Quint in his editorial states that chronic renal failure can also result in TI shortening as a result of dystrophic parenchymal mineralization in the basal ganglia (I). As I had never heard or read this before, I turned to the reference section (reference 12 was cited for this statement) to see where this had been documented. I was obviously somewhat surprised to see that the reference was to an artide of which I was a coauthor(2) and which discusses not chronic renal failure but chronic hqxtk failure. I am assuming that this was simply a franscription error, but, in any case, it should probably be corrected as I do not believe that it is factually correct as it now stands.
