Materials and MethodsAmino acid naphthylamides and zm-butoxycarbonyl and benzyloxycarbonyl derivatives of amino acids were obtained from Sigma Chemical Co.(St. Louis, MO) or Bachem Inc.(Torrance, CA).,'-Dicyclohexylcarbodiimide, N-hydroxysuccinimide, trifluoroacetic acid, hippuric acid, glu-tathione, dithiothreitol, 2-mercaptoethanol, p-mercuribenzoate, iodoacetamide, iodoacetic acid, A-ethylmaleimide, papain, trypsin, chymotrypsin, pepstatin, antipain, chymostatin, EDTA, o-phenanthroline, and BOC-eZ-Lys-TV-hydroxysuccinimide ester were obtained from Sigma Chemical Co. Aminopeptidase M (EC 3.4. 11.2) was purchased from Boehringer/Mannheim Inc.(Indianapolis, IN). DFP was obtained from Calbiochem-Behring Corp.(La Jolla, CA).
