The article presents a case study of a Japanese girl who had a skin rash at birth, and fever, otorrhea, bloody stools, marked hepatosplenomegaly and osteolytic lesion in the left humerus at the age of 1 month. She was diagnosed with langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) after skin biopsy, and treated with the Japan LCH study group (JLSG)-02 protocol but did not respond to the initial 6 week induction.
