others as satellite metastatic lesions with epidermotropism which spread via lymphatic flow. Six months have now passed without recurrence or metastasis. Epidermotropic metastasis of melanoma has been characterized as sudden development of disseminated small-sized pigmented macules in advanced-stage patients. In contrast, the present case showed slowly growing agminated papules with an indolent clinical course. Moreover, the clinical appearance was indistinguishable from the primary lesion. While the mechanism of EM has yet to be clarified, epidermotropism is usually acquired in tumor cells showing aggressive behavior. The clinicopathological features of the present case suggested that tumor cells with a docile nature may also acquire epidermotropism, and the satellite metastases had developed characteristic agminated papules. The possibility of melanoma with satellite EM should be considered as a differential diagnosis in cases with aggregation of similarly appearing papules.
