HighlightsPt single atom catalyst on η-Al 2 O 3 was fabricated based on an Al (OH) 3 support.MgO/Pt/Al 2 O 3 with basic surface was beneficial for CO oxidation under H 2 O condition.H 2 O inhibited the adsorption of carbonates on catalysts in CO oxidation.WO 3/Pt/Al 2 O 3 with acidic surface was highly active for methanol decomposition.Oxygen vacancies on catalyst surface were the active sites for methanol adsorption.
