Source/Description: Polymorphic cleavage sites for restriction enzymes Baril and PvuU occur in intron 2 of the human gene for selectin E (endothelial leukocyte adhesion molecule 1—SELE). These polymorphisms are detected by PCR amplification of intron 2 sequences using primers from exons 1 and 2 (amplification product is 631 bp)(1), and digestion with Banl or PvuU. The amplification primers also contain restriction sites (underlined in primer sequences below).
