从新石器时代到青铜时代，西辽河地区有7种正式命名的古代文化，其中新石器时代包括：小河西文化（公元前9000-8500年）、兴隆洼文化（公元前8200- 7200年）。注入文化(720 - 7000 - b.p。)Zhaobaogou文化(7000 - 6400 b.p。);铜石共存时代包括：红山文化（公元前6500-5000年）、小河岩文化（公元前5000-4000年）；青铜器时代前期包括：下家店低级文化阶段（距今4000-3500年）。从西来河地区的文化发展历程来看，红山文化时期（公元前5500-5000年），西来河地区已处于初级文明时期。下家店社会处于低级文化阶段，处于高级文明阶段。这些都成为中华文明多元文化融合格局的基础。
There are seven ancient cultures which are given names formally from Neolithic Age to Bronze Ag in Xiliaohe River area,among which Neolithic Age includes: Xiaohexi culture(9000-8500 B.P.),Xinglongwa culture(8200-7200B.P.),Fuhe culture(720-7000B.P.),Zhaobaogou culture(7000-6400B.P.);the period of Age of copper and stone both used includes: Hongshan culture(6500-5000 B.P.),Xiaoheyan culture(5000-4000B.P.);the forepart of Bronze Age include: the lower-level cultural stage of Xiajiadian(4000-3500B.P.).From the course of cultural development in Xilaiohe River area,the society had been in the primary period of civilization during the period of Hongshan culture(5500-5000B.P.).the society during the period of lower-level cultural stage of Xiajiadian and been in high-level civilization.All the above has become the foundation of the multi-cultural integration pattern of Chinese civilization.
