DsRNA preparations produced from potato plants infected with either a Peruvian or Colombian isolate of Potato yellow vein virus (PYVV; genus Crinivirus, family Closteroviridae) contain five dsRNAs, the largest three of which represent the viral genome constituting RNAs 1, 2 and 3 [1]. In this investigation the remaining two, smaller species originally termed x and y [1] have been cDNA cloned and sequenced and re-nominated PYVV D RNA A and B.
