Some reports suggest that mGluR activity is related to anxiety (Tatarczynska et al., 2001). The T1521C polymorphism in the g-aminobutyric acid A a-6 receptor (GABRA6) gene is associated with markedly attenuated hormonal response to psychological stress (Uhart et al., 2004). It has been reported that opioid-receptor-like protein (ORL1) and its endogenous peptide ligand nociceptin is related to anxiety in rat experiments (Jenck et al., 2000).
