PIV technology was applied to measure the liquid-solid two-phase flow with salt coagulation inside the centrifugal pump.The image grabber card was used to collect the flow image and then sent to computer via data line.The liquid-solid image processing and analysis software were developed to separate the particles from the background.By using some arithmetic to survey and recognize the particle,the solid particle and the hollow glass particle that tracking the liquid were distinguished by their diameters.The experimental results show that the new method has advantages of lower cost and less dependence on hardware in the measuring of the liquid-solid two-phase flow with salt coagulation.liquid-solid two-phase flow;particle image velocimetry;image processing;salt coagulation;centrifugal pump
