315 Clinton St., Findlay, Ohio 45840 We wonder how your lady readers would enjoy living with dinosaurs in a Marsh, or having a real honest-to-goodness illuminated cavern in their bedroom; and with framed rock and mineral displays covering four rooms of their homes? Yet that is what Mrs. Ellis has to contend with. Having no basement or garage, the kitchen becomes a laboratory, the sink and counter a workshop; and the" Guest Room" a welcoming center for visiting" rock-hounds". This is" Ellisonia: Manse of the Muses"... named for the nine goddesses of the arts in ancient Greece. This strange dilemma which perplexes my wife all began about seven years ago, when the niece of a former governor of Tennessee whom we were visiting in Memphis gave us a beautiful specimen of petrified wood from Arizona. Next came a rare cave formation which was presented to us in Guntersville, Alabama. That started the whole thing, and we became confirmed" collectors"; with our home rapidly changing into a" museum't-i-the last thing of which my poor wife had ever dreamed in any of her wildest nightmares. After forty-two years of marital" blitz", this was to become the rocky road to retirement. Ah me! Actually, I am a retired minister; but since we are both lovers of beauty, we have now dedicated four rooms of our home to the establishment of a community Mineral Museum-where Scouts, school children and classes, and senior citizens may come at any time to see and acquaint themselves with the wonderful beauties of nature. It is our ardent hope that upon our death this home and museum will become a permanent site in and for our city'and county, to serve all future generations. Since we are not dealers and have no. shop, this venture must be entirely a" labor of love" for this community. This is all being accomplished on a small Social Security income; augmented by the donations of minerals from our many friends.
