ResultsThe mean overnight fasting-plasma endogenous gluca-gon concentration in 20 non-diabetic controls was 2-4 ng. per ml.(range 0-7 to 5-0 ng. per ml.). The concentration of glucagon is arbitrarily expressed in terms of the beef-pork glucagon reference standard, since crystalline human glucagon is not available.
