This volume brings together emerging and leading scholars in the field of anthropology to reflect on the intellectual trajectories of fifteen African American anthropologists who earned their doctorates in anthropology between 1960 and 1969. Following in the footsteps of African American Pioneers in Anthropology (Harrison and Harrison 1999), this volume documents the quest for knowledge, respect, truth and value in the inspiring work of the next generation of black anthropologists.
