The article presents a case study on the association between brain-derived neutrophic factor (BDNF) with cognitive dysfunction in patients with chronic heart failure (CHF). It describes patient characteristics, serum BDNF levels, depressive symptoms, general cognitive functions, and immediate and delayed memory. It suggests that additional interventions like exercise training might decrease psychological symptoms and occurrence of death or hospitalization in CHF patients.
